HONEYMOON REGISTRY
OUR STORY
One of our good friends always says that so many stars had to align for us to come together. Some people call it the butterfly effect. We say it’s the evidence of the Lord’s intentionality and perfect design.
We met in 2020 at the not-so-infamous Cleveland Chop steakhouse. Fred was managing a campaign for our friend’s Ohio State House race. Alex had come from D.C. with a group of friends to help knock doors. What started as campaign coordination soon turned into regular check-ins, which eventually grew into long conversations, sometimes serious, sometimes ridiculous, but always genuine.
Those conversations led to back-and-forth visits between Ohio and D.C. Eventually, Fred moved to D.C., not because he loves traffic or humidity, but because life just made more sense together, the kind of sense that makes you realize home isn’t a place, it’s a person.
Since then, we’ve grown so much as individuals and as a couple. We’ve learned patience, grace, and how to love each other through the little things (also, being Browns fans definitely helped with the patience part). We balance each other in the best ways. While our work and passion often revolve around politics and policy, sometimes sparking long debates, that’s only a small part of who we are together. We challenge and refine one another, but we’ve also created a sanctuary from the world within each other. Even when we’re both convinced we’re right, we always find our way back to the same page. Our favorite way to move on is simple: “I’m right. You’re wrong. And that’s okay.” Somehow, we met our match, someone who can enjoy late-night McDonald’s runs and five-course tasting menus with equal joy.
In August 2024, Fred proposed in Morocco, a place that holds a lot of meaning for him. He planned every detail with intention. He chose the YSL Gardens, a special place tied to one of Alex’s favorite designers, surrounded by her favorite shade of blue. It was peaceful, beautiful, and completely us. For once, Alex had no words except for absolutely.
Our love is a redeeming love that reminds us of God’s kindness and His ability to write stories more meaningful than anything we could plan ourselves. We’ve found that love is like a living work of art, shaped over time with intention, patience, care, and sometimes a change of perspective.
We’re beyond excited to begin this next chapter together with a wedding in the free state of Florida on April 11, 2026. It means the world to us to celebrate alongside the people who have stood by our side from the very beginning.
And to think, if it weren’t for that weekend knocking doors, we might have never said hello to the greatest love story we know.
